A reader with sharp eye and a sense of fun noticed that this Thursday’s meeting of Argyll and Bute Council - 19th December – is to be held, not at Kilmory in Lochgilphead but down the road in Ardrishaig Public Hall.
Since this is the traditional venue for Christmas pantomimes, the suggested Council performance was ‘The Seven Dwarfs’ – since there is no Snow White at Kilmory but there are plenty of options for the dwarves – with Council Leader Dick Watch a natch for Doc.
Other nominations from our reader include:
- Grumpy: Councillor Jimmy McQueen
- Happy – Councillor Roddy McCuish
- Dopey – Councillor Alistair MacDougall
We can only hope that the decision to take a meeting to Ardrishaig does not signal the first of a fool’s progress around Argyll and the Isles, with Scotland’s joke council parodying the Scottish Government’s adopted habit of set piece summer cabinet photo-opportunities, dispensing local goody-bags across the territory.
